Borderlands developer Gearbox Software is "cautiously optimistic" about newly released Battleborn’s future, creative director Randy Varnell said.
The developer launched Battleborn on May 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC—and according to Varnell, it’s "tracking just ahead" of the first Borderlands game.
"Ultimately, Borderlands
extremely successful new game for us," Varnell said during a Twitch livestream (as reported by Videogamer), "and even Borderlands 1 went on to sell, I think, almost 7, 8 million units in its lifetime."
