A planned beta for Gran Turismo Sport has been canceled, creator Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed to VideoGamer. First announced alongside the game last fall, the demo was scrapped in order to get the game out this year.
“It’s required that in order to do an open beta we have to create a proper master for it, and considering the release timing that we announced, we decided that we just don’t have enough time to do two gold masters for the game,” Yamauchi explained in an interview. “By omitting that, it saves us about three months of time.”
Racing fans who didn’t participate in yesterday’s pre-season Gran Turismo Championship races featuring the game will get to try Gran Turismo Sport this November. The PlayStation 4 game launches in the U.S. and Japan on Nov. 15.
