Though our full review is still forthcoming, PlatinumGames’ latest licensed hack-n-slasher Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan supplies plenty of massive boss battles that showcase almost every Turtles villain we’ve ever loved with surprising authenticity, not to mention plenty of Platinum Games’ signature brand of flashy, frenetic combat. We’ve gathered together our three favorite encounters below, so scroll ahead to see Raph and the rest take on Shredder, Rocksteady, and Mega Krang. Unless you want to completely avoid spoilers–in which case, it might be best to stick with trailers.
Shredder
The battle may be breathless, but the Turtles’ quippy nemesis certainly isn’t. Underneath that thick layer of action movie banter, however, Shredder appears to be in fine form, far closer to the comics and cartoons than Michael Bay’s more recent depiction.
Rocksteady
What better place to battle an anthropomorphic, sledgehammer-wielding rhino than an abandoned subway station? The fight might have been more fair if Rocksteady had had Bebop by his side, but the combo-driven combat is fun to watch regardless.
Mega Krang
He may not be riding around in some giant dude’s stomach like he was in the ’90s, but Krang’s new robo-suit makes for an even more menacing threat. Plus, the Turtles somehow have robots of their own.
