Fallout 4 Update: Microsoft reveal new Xbox One news, Bethesda talk PS4 mods as DLC leaks – Express.co.uk

For those interested in extending their stay in the Boston wastelands on Xbox One and PS4, new mod support is set to be launched by Bethesda.

Fallout 4 on Xbox One will see the release of the new features on May 31 and Microsoft have supplied their own teaser for it.

They will arrive first on Xbox One and it will be the first time mods have been made available on consoles.

The new modding system works using a loading order, a way of stacking mods in a way where they function together.

A few lucky fans have been given access to the mod beta, with a chance to try and smooth out some of the problems before its full launch later this week.

Xbox’s Larry Hryb spoke more on the subject, telling fans: “Many of the mods made by the [Creation] kit are forwarded over to Xbox One, allowing console Fallout 4 players to enjoy new community-created features.

“Soon, a new update will be released for Fallout 4.”

Hryb confirmed that the new update would add the Fallout 4 mod option to the game’s main menu, giving fans direct access to the mods available on Bethesda.net.

Bethesda recently confirmed that a Fallout 4 update adding mods to PS4 is still on track for a June release, this was revealed during a recent company livestream.

During the Twitch event, the studio also unveiled some new stats for the mod features, that it would be limited to a 2GB install size on consoles and that it would also disable achievements.

While most mods aren’t huge, 2GB on Xbox One should be enough to grab some of the top mods which add new weapons and features.

Other details included the fact that mods which use DLC content will need the likes of Automatron and the Wasteland Workshop installed, while players will need to choose to link their Fallout 4 game with Bethesda.net before downloading any mods.

Bethesda also confirmed that when a mod is installed it creates a new save, meaning that if it corrupts it in someway you can always fall back on the original data.

Fans, meanwhile, appear to have found Bethesda’s next Fallout 4 DLC on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

An intrepid data miner has stumbled across some new information while scanning over the game files, and it certainly paints an interesting picture.

The details themselves are short and sweet, as you would guess, but the wording certainly appears to confirm a new adventure themed-around a certain famous beverage.

Posting the code on Reddit, one fan pointed out an interesting line which states: “DLC NUKA WORLD”, “DLC WORKSHOP TWO” and “DLC WORKSHOP THREE”.

That would suggest that three new DLCs will be launched by Bethesda, the studio itself has yet to confirm its plans for the rest of 2016.
