In early May Nintendo hosted a Japanese Nintendo Direct for Culdcept Revolt, and interesting 3DS title heading for a July release in the country.
It was an intriguing watch, and it’s a big deal in Japan as it’s the first entry in the series for a number of years. Nintendo is now lining up a second Direct dedicated to the game, with the live stream video popping up on our YouTube feed.
It’s going down on 22nd June at 4am Pacific / 7am Eastern / noon UK / 1pm CET; that’s actually a prime-time slot of 8pm in Japan, which is the target audience. When covering the first broadcast we learnt quite a lot about its gameplay and strategic usage of cards – it is, essentially, a virtual brand of the sort of complex fantasy card games that are popular around the world.
This series hasn’t had a release in the West for 14 years, so odds are slim this will make it out of Japan. We’ll be live blogging it out of curiosity, nevertheless; you can re-watch the first Direct below.
