Slick Turn-Based RPG ‘Questland’ Soft Launches on New Zealand App Store

While the array of traditional RPGs on iOS certainly are welcome (as long as they remain on the App Store, at least), it’s cool to see an increasing number of role playing games that take a more portable and mobile edge on the genre while still remaining true to their roots. One such game is Questland, which has just soft launched on the New Zealand App Store for free, and features a decent amount of customization options with a interesting first person battling perspective under a layer of incredibly beautiful cel-shaded graphics. With a strong character creation system and a wide selection of armor and weapon choices which all have their own unique style, Questland should definitely satiate both hardcore and casual RPG fans looking for a new game to play on the go.

While this all seems well and good, some avid readers on our forums have drawn a link between Questland and the previously announced Exiles of Embermark which we first previewed back in February. Both games seemingly share the same first person perspective and fantasy RPG premise, which on the surface certainly seems rather questionable. However, it appears that Questland has been in development from as far back as April 2015 according to its Facebook page, with Exiles of Embermark first posting on their Tumblr developer account in October of the same year. I’d take an educated guess that this is merely a coincidental link, and both games certainly look strong and unique in their own different ways irrespective of the similarities.

With both games scheduled for full release later in 2016, definitely consider following the impressive development blog of Exiles of Embermark, and also try out Questland by using our guide for downloading soft launch releases. And, of course, don’t forget to leave your quest logs on our forums.
