Xbox One Backward Compatibility: New game launch follows RDR, Metal Gear title next? – Express.co.uk

Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare and Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition are now playable on Microsoft’s next-gen console.

RDR running on Xbox One has even been hailed as the best version of the game to play, mainly due to the poor specs of the PS3 and the lack of a PC launch.

And Microsoft has expanded the Xbox One Backward Compatibility library further this week, addind Arcade game Interpol from Microsoft Studios.

Anyone who owns Interpol will be able to hunt down the evil Dr. Chaos on Xbox One this week, gathering hidden clues around the world while investigating elaborate crime scenes and mini-games.

But what new game could be next for the Backwards Compatible program?

The prospect of a title from the Metal Gear series being included could be another exciting announcement for fans to follow on from RDR.

Platinum Games developers were recently asked about whether we could ever see Metal Gear Rising make it to the Xbox One, here’s what they told Windows Central: “Totally up to Konami.

“Personally, I loved Metal Gear Rising, it was so cool to see my name in the credits of a Metal Gear game. So, if it’s backward compatible?

“I think that would be awesome. But you know, Metal Gear is in an interesting place, but I hope that Konami kinda sees it to bring it out, and let a whole new generation experience that game.”

There are now 210 Xbox One Backwards Compatibility titles available to play, and there are still four games being processed, and another 160 that have been officially closed.

Skate 3, Bioshock 1 & 2 and Bioshock Infinite were all titles first announced as big part of the Xbox 360 library last year, it is unclear how long it will be until these titles are formally launched.
