Stardew Valley is finally coming to Mac

And Linux too

Stardew Valley is finally getting Mac and Linux compatibility, developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone said on Twitter. The game is set to arrive on both systems next Friday, July 29.

Mac and Linux support has been long promised by the one-man development team. Handling these and other ports is Chucklefish, the game’s publisher. The cult hit is also slated for a console release, with additional help from Sickhead Games. The PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox One versions are due out this winter.

Still to come is the game’s version 1.1 update, which will add co-op multiplayer support, more languages and other features. There’s also Stardew Valley merchandise in the works.

Stardew Valley has found already success as a Windows PC-exclusive, launching on Steam this past February after years in development. The game spent time atop the Steam charts, garnering acclaim from farming simulation fans new and old. It’s even caught the eyes of the staff behind the Story of Seasons (Bokujo Monogatari) series, Stardew Valley‘s most obvious influence.
