Nvidia’s new $1,200, 12GB Titan X hits next month

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang unveiled the company’s new Titan X graphics card last night, saying it’s 60 percent faster than the original Titan X.

The new card is built on the same Pasal GPU architecture used by Nvidia’s 1080, 1070 and 1060 and will go on sale on Aug. 2 on Nvidia.com in North America and Europe. The company said it’s coming soon to Asia.

More details are expected about the $1,200 card on Monday, but here are the specs the company has released so far:

· 12-billion transistors

· 11 TFLOPs FP32 (32-bit floating point)

· 44 TOPS INT8 (new deep learning inferencing instruction)

· 3,584 CUDA cores at 1.53GHz (versus 3,072 CUDA cores at 1.08GHz in previous TITAN X)

· High performance engineering for maximum overclocking

· 12GB of GDDR5X memory (480GB/s)
