Xbox One news: Black Ops 3 Zombies reveal, No Man’s Sky, Xbox One S Secrets – Express.co.uk

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s fourth and final Xbox One and PS4 DLC pack will bring to an end a long-running Zombies storyline.

The next chapter in the game’s Zombies mode will resolve a cliffhanger from Black Ops 2, according to Treyarch’s Jason Blundell.

Blundell told GameSpot that it all revolves around the ending of Zombies in Black Ops 2, which saw Samantha and a boy called Edward in a house together.

“They were playing with zombie toys,” Blundell explains. “Then an alarm goes off and you hear Max’s voice calling them down to the basement. 

“The characters say, ‘I wish our heroes in our stories were real.’ Then we dropped to black. 

“That was the end of Black Ops 2. People lost their s***.”

Blundell said that he intends to finally answer the question of what that scene was and why it was there when Black Ops 3 gets its final DLC pack later this year.

No Man’s Sky is set to launch this week on PS4 as a console exclusive, but some Xbox One fans might be questioning if the space exploration title could arrive sometime in the future.

While No Man’s Sky will launch on PC, it seems unlikely it will ever make to Xbox One, partly because of Microsoft’s indie parity clause which states that indie titles must arrive at the same time as on other platforms.

Xbox chief Phil Spencer has spoken about the clause in the past, and has at least given examples of how indie developers could get around it.

“I have a lot of friends that run small indie studios, and I get that timelines around when–they just can’t get both games done at the same time, all three games, all four games, depending on how many platforms they’re supporting,” Spencer revealed back in 2014. 

“So I always just say, ‘Let’s have a conversation.’ And it’s worked; today, I think we’ve done a good job of working with the indies on, when they’ve had parity concerns, if it’s just a dev issue for them.”

“But I don’t want somebody to come in and just think ‘I’m going to go do a special game on one platform and then I’ll get to Xbox whenever I get to it,’ because I don’t think that’s right,” he said. 

“But I also get that, hey, for some guys, they just can’t afford the time to get both done, so we’ve just entered into conversations with people as they’re launching, and I feel pretty good about the plan.”

Hello Games founder Sean Murray, meanwhile, has confirmed that No Man’s Sky is only a timed-exclusive on PS4, meaning that it is open to other platforms.

The Director of ID@Xbox at Microsoft, Chris Charla, also opened the door to No Man’s Sky arriving at a later date, commenting that it would be great to see it launch on the Xbox One but it was up to Hello Games to open dialogue.

“You should ask those guys,” Charla told the Inner Circle Network podcast in 2015, “I would love to see it [on Xbox One]”.

The Xbox One S has launched this month, and Microsoft appears to have forgotten a feature that can provide a small performance boost to a range of older games, something that was discovered following its launch.

It’s been discovered that older titles running on the Xbox One S, with unlocked frame rates or dynamic resolution, can receive a boost of as much as nine frames per second.

Games that have been confirmed as affected by this include Project CARS, the recent Resident Evil 5 remaster and HITMAN 2016.

A recent statement from Microsoft confirmed that internal testing found the changes to be minor and therefore wasn’t seen as a major selling point.

It’s also been confirmed that a Master Chief Easter egg can be found on the INSIDE of the console, which many fans will never see. owners should be warned that by opening their Xbox One S they will void their existing warranty.
