In July we reported that SmileBASIC had been taken off the 3DS eShop as a result of a Homebrew exploit targeting the app. As has been the case with multiple games, once Nintendo became aware of an exploit using the app it removed it promptly, leaving Smileboom with the task of producing an update to secure any loopholes.
It’s take around a month, but the good news is that the app is back, with an update available for those that already have it. The following message has been posted by Smileboom:
SmileBASIC is back! The updated version of SmileBASIC has been released. Please re-download it from Nintendo eShop.
You can even see the hefty changelog on the official website for the update to version 3.3.2. The app isn’t yet available to buy directly from Nintendo.com, but it’ll surely be available there again soon.
