Xbox One news: Games with Gold update, No Man’s Sky reveal, The Elders Scrolls 6 release – Express.co.uk

No Man’s Sky on Xbox One is something that appears unlikely to happen, due to Microsoft parity clause which asks indie developers to launch games at the same time as other platforms.

This causes a problem for NMS developers Hello Games, who have released the title as a timed-exclusive on the PS4, and is now available to play on the PC too.

Fans remain curious on its status, however, and more questions have been raised over whether there is a glimmer of hope for its eventual Xbox One launch.

It wouldn’t be the first game to make it past the parity clause, Rocket League is now available on Microsoft’s next-gen console and certainly makes a good example of a popular game launching on all platforms.

In recent interview, Hello Games founder Sean Murray apparently gave a rather coy answer on the game’s status, leading some to hope for No Man’s Sky eventual Xbox arrival.

This is how the Daily Star describes the reaction to the question during an interview, revealing: “In response Murray told us he wasn’t sure what he was “actually allowed to say” at the time, noting that he needed to be “very specific with my words”.”

“Before going any further though, Sony’s rep stepped in to move the interview along, explaining that at this time there was nothing more to add.”

While No Man’s Sky reviews remain mixed, it would still probably sell very well on the Xbox One if ever does get the chance.

Xbox Games with Gold August 2016 is getting an update very soon, meaning a change in what titles can be downloaded for free.

WWE 2K16 is set to be made available on August 16, taking the place of Tumblestone, which has been on the Gold roster since July 16.

It means fans have just 24hrs to grab Tumblestone before it is replaced, the same goes for the Xbox 360 titles currently available.

Spelunky runs from August 1 – 15, and will be replaced by Beyond Good & Evil HD until August 31.

It should be noted that all the titles listed above can be played on the Xbox One, due to the Backwards Compatibility program.

WWE 2K16: “the latest and most diverse installment of the prolific WWE video game series containing over 120 Superstars and Legends.  Revel in the return of the story and MyCAREER modes, where your actions influence your personality and your alliances and rivalries can take you to the top of the WWE world.”

Spelunky: “The hit indie platformer allows you to blast through rock to find your shortcuts and challenges you to avoid traps, find loot, and defeat your enemies. With each level being procedurally generated, the experience is new and different every time.”

The Elder Scrolls 6 release date has been discussed by Bethesda again, who are adamant that they will not be pushed into any rash decisions.

Five years have passed since the arrival of Skyrim, which is soon to get a Special Edition launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

And studio vice president Pete Hines has confirmed that Bethesda is likely to follow suit when it comes to handling The Elder Scrolls 6 release date – as a surprise.

“The motivation came from both sides,” Hines tells PC Gamer. “Anything we want to do from a PR-marketing perspective always has implications on the devs, right? Whether that’s trying to capture video or trying to put together a demo: it’s an additional ask above and beyond just working on the game.”

“You’re not going to be hearing first details on [Elder Scrolls 6] years before the game comes out, absolutely not.

“It’s not the next thing we’re doing nor the thing we’re even doing after that.”
