The Division DLC Delayed

Ubisoft is focusing improving the base game first.

Survival, the second expansion pack for Tom Clancy’s The Division, has been delayed.

The original plan was to release the DLC in September. According to a news update from Ubisoft on the game’s website, Survival “is now postponed to a later date this year.” The update to the release schedule now means the third DLC, titled Last Stand, will be released in early 2017 rather than at the end of 2016.

The blog post explains that the developer’s “priority should now be on improving the core gameplay experience” following the feedback the team has received about the game. The delays of the DLC, according to the post, “enable us to strengthen the core experience before adding new content, but also continuously improve it by allowing for more production time to ensure the quality of future updates as well.”

We want to hear it.

Survival was originally planned to release alongside Update 1.4, which is now scheduled for October, but they will no longer launch together. Ubisoft says the update will “focus entirely on bug fixing, game balancing and other improvements.”

After the update, loot drops will be “more relevant to the player,” and various balancing will be done across gear sets, weapons, and player versus player combat in the Dark Zone. Ubisoft is listening to community feedback for change too. For example, weapon skins will no longer take up inventory space. A complete overview of the patch will arrive on September 13.

The first DLC for the game, Underground, released earlier this year. For more on The Division: Underground, be sure to read IGN’s review.
