Respawn Entertainment announced some new information about Titanfall 2 today, including a brand-new Coliseum mode where players can go head-to-head in 1v1 matches.
You can see a very brief glimpse at the Coliseum mode at the end of the trailer below. On display are two robot-like characters duking it out on a map that resembles a sumo wrestling ring. The object is to vanquish your enemy in a best two-out-of-three competition. The winner gets what’s called "Advocate Gifts," though it’s not immediately clear what these are.
Another element of Coliseum mode is that you need a Coliseum ticket to gain entry. To get tickets to the Coliseum mode, you can buy specially marked Mountain Dew drinks or Doritos bags. In addition to a ticket, the codes give you double XP and a chance to get Titan personalization items such as warpaint and camo, or even access to the Ronin Titan.
It’s unclear if the Mountain Dew and Doritos codes come with one Coliseum ticket or an allotment of tickets. We have followed up with Mountain Dew in an attempt to get more details.
It also remains to be seen if drinking soda and eating chips are the only ways to access Coliseum mode. We’ll report back with more details as they become available.
