Microsoft announced a handful of new features coming to the Xbox Live Preview program on Xbox One and Windows 10 today. Xbox Live’s Larry Hyrb detailed the update on his blog on Monday, with a special focus on the new Arena system. The eSports-centric program will allow players of almost any ability to compete in online tournaments.
While Arena is still in Preview, participants in Xbox Live’s limited program can compete in daily Killer Instinct practice tournaments. At rollout, the tournaments will only be available in the U.S., but Microsoft plans to scale up the Arena system to Preview members in other regions in October. The Arena update was first announced by Microsoft earlier this year at E3.
