Amazon has not offered an official statement yet.
Numerous customers are alleging their pre-orders of the Gears of War 4 special editions are being delayed by Amazon on the day they’re supposed to be delivered: today.
Taking to a Reddit thread (NSFW language) to voice their frustrations, customers have reported that delivery of both the $99.99 Ultimate Edition and the $249.99 Collector’s Edition have been delayed to as late as next Wednesday. The reason for such frustration being, pre-ordering the premium editions of the game was supposed to guarantee early access to Gears of War 4, which doesn’t release officially until next Tuesday, October 11.
As of right now, Amazon has not offered any statements to the validity of these claims. Nor have they commented on whether or not affected customers will be offered refunds or coupons to make up for the faux pas.
IGN has reached out to Microsoft about the situation and will update this story with any comment we receive.
