See Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel’s new PvP mode in action

Dark Souls 3‘s first piece of downloadable content, Ashes of Ariandel, drops later this month. The first of two planned add-ons for the game will include new weapons and armor, as well as an area dedicated to player-versus-player combat. In a new trailer released by publisher Bandai Namco today, we get a look at what those three-on-three matchups will look like.

The new PvP map, reportedly called Hollow Arena, is more than just a flat battleground in which players can square off. It appears to be a slanted map with a few structures where players may take cover or hide from their opponents. Ashes of Ariandel‘s dedicated PvP component also appears to have some decorative reward to it; players are shown with various types of crowns floating above their heads in the trailer.

Bandai Namco also promises one-on-one battles as well as free-for-all modes, if you can’t get a team of undead together.

Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel comes to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One Oct. 25. The expansion costs $14.99 and is included as part of Dark Souls 3‘s $24.99 season pass.
