MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries has been announced and is slated to release in 2018.
Piranha Games, the studio behind MechWarrior Online, announced that it’s developing the project (via RockPaperShotgun), which will be a single-player game will a full campaign mode. No specific platforms were announced.
According to the game’s official site, MechWarrior 5 puts players in "the role of a rookie MechWarrior pilot thrust into combat as the Third Succession War continues to fracture the Inner Sphere." Throughout the campaign, players will "take contracts from the factions of
