Time to reassemble
Square Enix and Marvel Entertainment have partnered to create multiple games based on The Avengers franchise, the companies announced today. A debut teaser for the project can be seen above.
The teaser is short, but shows obvious hints of heroes like Captain America and Iron Man. Their mission, it seems, is to not just assemble — but reassemble.
That’s the slogan of this multi-game partnership, based on Square Enix and Marvel’s announcement. Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal are leading development on the new series of The Avengers games. Those studios are best known for action-adventure franchises like Tomb Raider and Thief, as well as the Deus Ex games.
There’s no release date yet for The Avengers games from Square Enix and company, although fans should expect several titles to arrive over a period of multiple years. The next entry in Marvel’s film franchise, Avengers: Infinity War, is due out on May 4, 2018.
