Starbreeze Studios, the publisher and developer behind games like Payday 2 and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, will publish Psychonauts 2.
Double Fine founder Tim Schafer confirmed the publishing partnership in a new developer video for their crowd-funded sequel, which also features some new footage of the game in action. See it below.
"We are excited to be working with them because they are from a development background just like us, and so they know where we’re coming from," Schafer said of Starbreeze in the video update.
Starbreeze is investing $8 million in the production of Psychonauts 2, and after that investment, the studio will receive 60 percent of the profits from that point on. Double Fine will retain the rights to the Psychonauts IP.
