Sequel will seek “to broaden the franchise’s global reach.”
Activision has confirmed that a sequel to Destiny is still on track for release in 2017.
In a presentation accompanying its fourth quarter 2016 earnings today, Activision clarified that it will release a “full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.”
In early 2016, Activision first revealed plans to release a Destiny sequel in 2017 as part of last year’s earnings report. The publisher previously said that the “majority of the team at Bungie” is currently working on the sequel, which is rumored to also be headed to PC.
