Fallout Shelter Hitting Xbox Doesn’t Mean It’ll Come to PS4

Fallout Shelter arrived on Xbox One and Windows 10 this week, but that doesn’t mean it will be getting a PS4 port too.

Asked by a fan on Twitter whether the move to console meant it could arrive on other platforms, Bethesda head of PR Pete Hines gave a non-committal response – but for good reason:

Essentially, Xbox support is a byproduct of Bethesda’s work with UWP, while a PS4 release would require a new project to start. Hines has so far had no word on whether that might happen – Bethesda could well be waiting to see what the uptake is on Xbox One before making a decision.

Fallout Shelter has been consistently updated since its release in 2015 – its latest versions are part of the Xbox Play Anywhere programme, meaning the game is cross-buy and cross-save between Xbox and Windows 10.
