Xbox One Gets A Price Cut Too
Microsoft has confirmed that a new Xbox One price cut has gone live. It will match the price of Sony’s console as it continues to try and compete in the marketplace against the PlayStation 4. So this is a good time to pick up an Xbox One.
The PS4 and Xbox One were both released back in 2013, but since the PS4 cost $100 less than the Xbox One back then, many think this was a big reason that Sony’s console took the lead early on. Microsoft’s price was higher because the company had bundled the Kinect sensor with it. Microsoft later cut the price by $100 and unbundled the Kinect from the Xbox One. This allowed it to regain some momentum but it remains behind the PS4 in total sales ever since 2013.
And so Microsoft has announced that it has discounted all models of the Xbox One and Xbox One S for a limited time. This is similar to what Sony is offering. The starting price for the Xbox One is now $250 and is valid until February 25th. The price is good for all Xbox One bundles so the price of more expensive bundles has also been reduced by $50.
