Drift0r Confirms Xbox One Input Lag on Black Ops 2
The news that Black Ops II could be played on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility was universally welcomed.
With over 100,000 people now actively playing the Treyach game launched in 2012, it has been revealed that there is some input lag when playing the old game on the new console.
This was confirmed by well known Youtuber, Drift0r, who conducted his own set of tests and found that input lag was prevalent and varied in severity depending on the stress put on the console, mainly due to the Xbox One having to run an Xbox 360 emulator.
The 10 minute video is typical Drift0r and goes into extensive detail and provides a number of different scenarios and test environments in order to arrive at his conclusion.
Although this backs up what a number of professional players have said via Twitter, it’s unlikely that we’ll see a fix due to being such an old game. At the same time, it’s also unlikely to put that many people off playing as the community waits for Sledgehammer’s new release in November.
