GTA 5 Online: New update for PS4, Xbox One and PC as Red Dead Redemption mod is canceled – Express.co.uk

GTA 5 Online’s latest update was confirmed earlier this month and it’s currently unclear if more is set to be revealed.

Classic Grand Theft Auto action is being added to the popular PS4, Xbox One and PC title next week, with the release of the new Tiny Racers mode.

Most of the information for the new activity was held back by Rockstar, meaning there could also be a special vehicle primed for release too.

Coming Tuesday, April 25, a new GTA 5 Online camera mode is being released that changes the perspective back to the traditional top-down look of GTA, GTA London and GTA 2.

While it looks like a fresh Adversary Mode, Rockstar appear to be billing it as a new retro-inspired stunt racing event that will sure to capture the imagination of long-term Grand Theft Auto fans.

Rockstar are keeping the details to the minimal, providing a new trailer for the mode, but not much else.

It looks like Micro-Machines style gameplay is coming to Los Santos, providing the development team the chance of a whole new line of content to produce for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

New maps and content creator tools are bound to be released in the coming weeks to flesh out the Tiny Racers mode.

Fans have been waiting to find out what was coming next, with the studio’s recent run of announced content having been fully released.

Tiny Racers does look a lot like the Top Down Adversary mode and it may be revealed in the future that it’s actually just a spin off being released next week.

It follows some pretty crushing news for the GTA 5 modding community, following the announcement that a big Red Dead Redemption project has been forcibly canned.

Red Dead Redemption V aimed to integrate the original RDR map into Grand Theft Auto 5. However, it appears that following being contacted by Take-Two, the team decided to end the mod.

“I know this is hard pill to swallow, but as you may have noticed we did get contacted , and we sadly have to say we are stopping this project,” wrote the mod’s lead programmer.

“So thanks guys, we were all so happy to see this, but it isn’t going to happen, sorry.”

The news came on the same day the new project’s first trailer was released, the video footage was also quickly taken down, meaning many fans never got to see it.

Red Dead Redemption V was only supposed for be used for single player mode, with the team stating that they did not condone the use of this mod in GTA Online, nor third party multiplayer clients.

Another conversion mod is currently in the works, focusing bringing Liberty City the existing GTA 5 Los Santos map, screenshots can be found above.
