At least two retailers in the US are now offering what amounts to a $60 discount for anyone looking to pick up a PlayStation VR headset for PS4.
Both Amazon and GameStop (online only) are throwing in the PS4 camera–which is required to use PSVR–for free right now with the purchase of a $400 PSVR headset (via Wario64). The camera costs $60 on its own or can be had as part of the $500 bundles that also include two PlayStation Move controllers (used in some games) and a game.
Whether in a bundle or not, you’ll also need a PS4 to use PSVR, so the price of entry is still high. But this new promotion brings down the bare minimum cost for jumping into Sony’s VR experience.
It’s unclear if this is an official Sony promotion, nor do we know how long the offer will be available for. We’ve reached out to Sony for more information and will report back with anything we learn.
