During its quarterly call with investors today, EA announced BioWare’s new project has been pushed into its 2019 fiscal year.
EA’s fiscal year begins in April, so it looks like we’ll need to wait until at least April 2018. In January, EA announced BioWare’s new IP release date was sometime before March of 2018.
The delay is attributed to new features BioWare is adding to the as-of-yet unnamed game, built around a live services, something EA said is coming along well.
BioWare’s new IP is a complete, ground-up property for the developer. In January, EA CEO Andrew Wilson called it a “clean-sheet design with new concepts, new gameplay mechanics, and new stories.”
It was also stressed the new IP won’t be an RPG, but was called by Wilson a “unique IP that will bring players together in exciting new ways.”
EA reporting its earnings, generating “record net sales and operating cash flow in fiscal 2017.”
