The day’s finally upon us – after months and months of teaser trailers, Watchtower streams, and character reveals, Injustice 2 is finally here.
Injustice 2 will unlock on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live at 12 AM Eastern on May 16, in about 15 hours from this post. To help you out, we’ve converted the time into several different time zones for you:
- 12 AM Eastern, 5/16
- 11 PM Central, 5/15
- 10 PM Mountain Time 5/15
- 9 PM Pacific Time 5/15
- 6 AM Central European Standard Time 5/16
Injustice 2 will feature a launch roster of 29 fighters and 9 DLC fighters in the game’s first year. The launch roster includes the following characters from the DC Universe:
- Aquaman
- Atrocitus
- Bane
- Batman
- Black Adam
- Black Canary
- Blue Beetle
- Brainiac
- Captain Cold
- Catwoman
- Cheetah
- Cyborg
- Darkseid (Preorder bonus)
- Deadshot
- Dr. Fate
- Firestorm
- Flash
- Gorilla Grodd
- Green Arrow
- Green Lantern
- Harley Quinn
- Joker
- Poison Ivy
- Robin
- Scarecrow
- Supergirl
- Superman
- Swamp Thing
- Wonder Woman
The game’s DLC characters revealed so far include Starfire, Red Hood, and Sub-Zero, crossing over from the Mortal Kombat universe. There are six more DLC characters to be revealed for the game that were teased as silhouettes when these three were announced.
There’s a few likely candidates for these DLC characters, the two most obvious being Raiden and Black Manta.
The gear system is one of the most heavily emphasized parts of Injustice 2. It lets you deck out your favorite heroes in armor, Diablo style, and modifies their abilities and stats (though you can turn it off for competitive play). You’re awarded gear from completing fights in the story mode, multiverse mode, and more.
