From dragon riding to football passing.

Former creative producer for PlatinumGames’ Scalebound, JP Kellams, announced he’s joining EA Sports to work as the development director for Madden competitive gaming.

His Instagram post reads:

“Back in the game! Happy to announce that I’ve joined the team at EA Sports as Development Director for Madden’s Competitive Gaming team and Continuous Development feature delivery,” Kellams said. “I even get to ride in team kit!”

His post includes a photo of himself decked out in EA Sports gear. The new role brings him back to Florida, where he attended the University of Florida, to the EA Tiburon studio in Orlando.

Kellams left PlatinumGames in March, just a few months after Scalebound’s cancellation. He worked at the studio for nearly ten years in Japan on games like Bayonetta and Anarchy Reigns.

“15 years ago, I cam to Japan to fulfill my childhood dream of making games with my heroes. No matter how hard the day, I always walked into the office in awe of the creativity around me, and with the joy that working with each and every one of my coworkers brought me,” Kellams said in another Instagram post.

EA recently announced that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be featured on the cover of Madden NFL 18. EA is planning to show Madden NFL 18 and other EA Sports games at EA Play in June.
