Destiny 2’s Crucible multiplayer drops to four-on-four

Action in Destiny 2’s Crucible, the game’s player-versus-player component, will be scaled back compared to the original Destiny: It will cap the player count at eight, developer Bungie announced today.

“We’re moving all activities in PvP to 4v4,” said Luke Smith, game director on Destiny 2, during Bungie’s gameplay reveal livestream.

That’s a decrease of one-third from Destiny, which supports up to six-on-six multiplayer gaming. Smith added that Bungie had “rebuilt” Crucible activities “for smaller-team formats.”
