Freeware has been a starting point for many successful titles, with games like
,
and
having roots as browser games or free downloads.
N
is another such game that started out as a free offering on PC, with Xboxers able to get a taste of the platformer via 2008’s official release
. The 2015 follow-up,
N++
, has now been announced for Xbox One.
N++
will be arriving on Xbox in the form of
N++ Ultimate Edition
. It’ll offer the same challenging platforming goodness of
N+
and
N++
, but according to the developers at Metanet Software, it doubles the size of the original
N++
. There are more than 4,300 levels, a solo campaign, secrets to discover, ninja headbands to wear, couch co-op, local competitive play and more.
Metanet isn’t shy about their pride in the title, calling N++ “the world’s best platformer.” Let’s see if players agree when
N++ Ultimate Editon
launches for Xbox One this summer, though it’s currently without a definite release date. The title retails for US$14.99 on other platforms.
