Metro Exodus kicked things off at today’s Microsoft E3 conference. I could tell pretty quickly that it was a game from the Metro series.
The series has a cool mix of survival shooter gameplay and crazy demonic mutant beasts. The trailer opened to a pretty scary wolf-rat-thing and that, combined with the slow loading and low ammo count signaled a Metro game.
Exodus looks absolutely gorgeous running in 4K on the Xbox One X. The environments are mind-blowing. And the monsters look frightening and, well, monstrous.
Honestly, this was one of the best moments in the entire Microsoft presser. Anthem looks cool, but I’m worried it won’t play to BioWare’s strengths. Sea of Thieves looks pretty uninspired for a pirate game. State of Decay 2 looks good, though. And I’m cautiously optimistic about Assassin’s Creed Origins.
