Coming to PC and Xbox One in 2018
One of the best-looking indie games Microsoft showed off at its E3 2017 press briefing was The Last Night from tiny studio Odd Tales, a side-scrolling action/adventure game that appears to be heavily inspired by Blade Runner.
A product of the inaugural #cyberpunkjam three years ago, The Last Night has been out of the spotlight for a while now. Publisher Raw Fury describes its setting as “post-cyberpunk”:
The Last Night is what we call post-cyberpunk — it’s not the kind of dystopia the genre is famous for, rather it depicts an alternate direction for society. One where the fight for survival doesn’t mean food and water, but a purpose for living. Human labour and creativity has been rendered obsolete by AI, so people are now defining themselves by what they consume, not what they create.
The Last Night is scheduled to be released in 2018 on Windows PC and Xbox One.
