PlayStation exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn inspires Microsoft to make Xbox One X rival – Express.co.uk

Horizon Zero Dawn’s success may have inspired Microsoft to follow suit with an Xbox One X rival.

It looks like Microsoft is planning to release its very own sprawling adventure game similar to the PlayStation 4 exclusive.

That’s according to a new Microsoft job ad for a lead environment artist for a new triple-A blockbuster.

Spotted by MSPoweruser, the job listing was posted on the LinkedIn profile of Microsoft’s Sandor Roberts.

“Looking for Lead Environment Artist for Microsoft AAA Nextgen Title,” the post reads. “Style: similar to Horizon Zero Dawn.”

The stunning Sony exclusive is the perfect showcase of the PS4 Pro. Check out the Photo Mode screenshots below for a look at how good Horizon Zero Dawn looks in 4K.

It’s likely Microsoft wants something similar to show off the power of the Xbox One X.

During Microsoft’s E3 2017 conference, it was revealed that the Xbox One X would have a November 7 release date and $499 price tag. UK customers will pay $499.

The console is being touted as the most powerful ever, and will support true 4K gaming.

However, as Microsoft points out, super sampling means that Xbox One X games will look better on regular HD TVs.

It was also revealed that all of the original Xbox One accessories will be compatible with the Xbox One X.

As for Horizon Zero Dawn, Sony announced plans to release a new expansion during the E3 gaming expo.

Horizon Zero Dawn DLC The Frozen Wilds is coming to PS4 later this year.

Little else is known about the expansion, apart from the fact that it takes place in a vast, frozen landscape.
