Fly a broomstick in Slender devs open-world, online RPG

You’re a wizard, Dovahkiin

Blue Isle Studios continues to surprise us with its range. The team behind indie horror game Slender: The Arrival and free-running adventure Valley have a brand new game out later this month on Steam Early Access. It’s called Citadel: Forged With Fire and it looks like a surprisingly ambitious, fantasy-themed, online sandbox role-playing game.

It’s also being developed for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Citadel will allow you to become a wizard with a wide range of spells. You’ll fight with other players in an open, medieval fantasy world. The first gameplay trailer shows player-versus-environment and player-versus-player action on foot, horseback and flying broomstick. You’ll even be able to tame a dragon.

Citadel is a completely new genre for us, our biggest goal with this title is to work closely with our community to build the ultimate fantasy sandbox game that is playable online with friends.” said, Alex Tintor, managing director of Blue Isle Studios.

Blue Isle aims to create a true sandbox game, freeing players to become a wizard hunter, beast master or the leader of their own in-game faction called a House of Conjurers. Citadel will also include a construction system that will let players build their own castles.

Citadel: Forged With Fire goes on sale July 26.
