Good game, Guardians
Destiny 2’s first Prestige raid went live at 10 a.m. PT this morning. Barely one hour later, the world’s first team finished it — a major milestone that comes with its own special rewards.
Clan Redeem, made up of players Sweatcicle, Modern Tryhard, Ehroaar, I Indica I, Senior Snubby and Gladd, defeated the harder version of the Leviathan raid in one hour and six minutes. Bungie said that the team’s impressive time beat the next-fastest group by just four minutes, making the achievement even more remarkable.
Congratulations to Clan Redeem for being World First to complete the Prestige Raid… by a margin of only four minutes! Good Game. http://pic.twitter.com/opCbO0dP9w

This isn’t the first record for Clan Redeem. The well-known speedrunners also finished the original Destiny’s Wrath of the Machine raid (from the Rise of Iron expansion) before anyone else, and they hold the fastest times for several other events in the game.
Earning the title of World First is highly coveted in the world of Destiny, so raids often turn into a race to completion at launch. After the winning team is named, all players are sometimes given something to celebrate about — like a new PvP map, which was unlocked after the world’s first completion of the standard Leviathan raid. (It took that clan, The Legend Himself, a little over five and a half hours to wrap the raid.)
There’s no word yet from Bungie on if Clan Redeem has earned the rest of the player base any unlockables or new things to try, but we’ll keep you posted.
