Rick and Morty co-creator confirms Accounting+ coming to PSVR this month

‘The king is dead’

“The king is dead.”

Squanch Games debuted the first trailer for the PlayStation VR version of its game, Accounting, which the studio is calling Accounting+, during The Game Awards 2017 pre-show.

Accounting first debuted last year for the HTC Vive. It marked the first game from Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland’s new VR-dedicated studio Squanch Games, which was named Squanchtendo originally. Crows Crows Crows, The Stanley Parable designer William Pugh’s studio, is collaborating with the development team on the project.

Accounting is described as a game actually about accounting — but there’s a little more to it. Those who are fans of Rick and Morty will be familiar with the game’s humor.

After Roiland and Pugh debuted the trailer, they were asked by host Geoff Keighley about how they got started working together on the game.

“I lied to Justin about working at Epic Games,” Pugh said on stage. “He believed me, and I apologized.”

Accounting+ will be released for PSVR on Dec. 19.
