This page details how to get the new form of Lycanroc, Dusk Form Lycanroc, in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. A special Rockruff can be received through Mystery Gift right now for free for everyone with a copy of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon, and is the first step to getting Dusk Lycanroc.

This Rockruff is the only Rockruff that will evolve into Dusk Lycanroc originally. However, any of its offspring with the Ability Own Tempo will also be able to evolve into Dusk Lycancroc.
In Pokemon Ultra Sun, Rockruff will have Fire Fang, but in Pokemon Ultra Moon, Rockruff will have Thunder Fang. Rockruff will always have the special move Happy Hour.
First, you must make sure your 3DS is connected to the internet. Afterward, follow these steps.
- Choose “Mystery Gift” at the main menu of your Pokemon Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon game.
- Next, choose “Get Via Internet.”
- Lastly, search for a gift.
That’s it! The Rockruff you receive will be Lv. 10, holding a Focus Band. The Focus Band allows the holder a 10% chance of surviving if damaged by something that would otherwise knock it out.
This event Rockruff is in effect until January 10, 2018, so grab it before then!

There are two simple steps to get Rockruff to evolve into Dusk Lycanroc.
- Increase Rockruff’s level to 25, or beyond.
- Ensure it levels up between 5 PM and 5:59 PM.
Because Pokemon Ultra Moon runs 12 hours ahead of real time, this means you must evolve your Rockruff between 5 AM and 5:59 AM in real time in order for it to be between 5 PM and 5:59 PM in game! Sorry Ultra Moon players, better set that alarm.
That’s it! Rockruff will then evolve into Dusk Lycanroc.

Dusk Lycanroc’s stats mostly resemble Midday Lycanroc’s, except it has 2 additional points in Attack, and 2 less points in speed.

This Lycanroc reflects features from both Lycanroc (Midday Form) and Lycanroc (Midnight Form). It learns both form’s signature moves, and its eyes glow red like the Midnight Form’s when it attacks.
Additionally, Dusk Form Lycanroc has a different ability from its counterparts, Tough Claws, which makes attacks that connect deal more damage – for example, attacks like Thunder Fang and Fire Fang.
