Pokemon Go Cancelling Support for Older iOS Devices

The change will take place February 28.

Pokemon GO is cancelling support for older iOS devices that are incapable of upgrading to iOS 11, such as the iPhone 5 and 5c.

The Pokemon GO team announced the change is coming because they are making improvements to the game that will “push the application beyond the capabilities of the operating systems on such devices.”

The change will take place on Feb 28, after which trainers may no longer be able to access their accounts from that device, or use items from their bags. Players interested in continuing to play the game will have to do so on another supported device.
