Edit
Monster Hunter World Beta Quests
There were originally three different quests to choose from, each of which can be played either single player with the company of a palico (felyne), or multiplayer in a party of two to four. For the final beta, these three quests are still available, plus a new quest up against a fearsome Elder Dragon, the Nergigante. Regardless if you’re playing with others though, you must be online.
When playing online, you can choose to filter language so you will only be matched with people with the same language as you.
Alternatively, you can create a session and share that session’s code with friends so they can join you.
Here is a list of the quests in order of difficulty.
At the Ancient Forest, we expect to also encounter:
See a hunt of the Great Jagras in this video:
At the Wildspire Waste, we expect to also encounter:
See the Barroth in action in this gameplay video:
See us hunt an Anjanath in this video:
This monster is an Elder Dragon, so expect it to be an especially punishing, difficult hunt.
EditTraining Area
Along with the three regular quests and the Nergigante hunt, you can also choose to practice in a new training area solo with any of the 14 weapons.
EditBeta Bonuses

If you clear any of the three quests, you will get a unique Face Paint to use in the full game.
Additionally, for the first time you clear each of the quests, you will receive a pack of helpful, but admittedly pretty common consumables for the full game, including:
- Max Potions
- Life Powders
- Various Traps
- Etc.
EditAdditional Beta Information
- None of your progress in the beta is saved, and nothing beyond the bonuses will be transferred to the full game. However, because you’re just choosing from six preset hunters with preset armor and weapons, nothing customizable will be lost if you turn off the game.
- You are allowed to stream the beta as well.
- PS Vita Remote Play is enabled
- Some features are missing in the beta, including the ability for squad leaders to kick players, and the ability to join in mid-quest.
The full Monster Hunter World is played much differently than the beta. Also, if this beta is anything like previous Monster Hunter demos, we expect the monsters to be much easier to defeat than their full game counterparts.
Besides Nergigante, Diablos and Ratholos are the most challenging monsters encounterable during the beta, though they do not have their own quests. You may choose to hunt them while on another quest.
If you want to see what the full game will be like, check out this full quest against a Pukei-Pukei, from preparation to completion.
