In the three days since launch, Capcom has shipped over 5 million copies of Monster Hunter: World.
Capcom announced the figure, which includes digital sales. It is worth bearing in mind that “shipped” is slightly different to “sold” for physical copies, in that it means units sent to retailers, not paid for by consumers – but it bodes well.
Earlier this month, DualShockers reported that Japanese gaming industry veteran, Hirokazu Hamamura, predicted that Monster Hunter: World would sell 10 million units worldwide long-term, taking into account the PC release slated for this Fall.
PC players are can expect a slew of free post-release content, including free monsters.
The title has debuted at No.1 in the UK charts, with the highest week one sales of any game in the series to date.
The last Monster Hunter title was 2016’s Monster Hunter Generations for the 3DS, which managed to reach No.3 in the UK charts – World is clearly an improvement for Capcom itself.
