Game director promises to “blow your mind”
Deadly Premonition and D4 creator Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro is working on a new game with Arc System Works called The Missing. Swery revealed the new project today, but didn’t offer much detail about the game.
Swery said that The Missing will be the first game developed “in house” at his new company White Owls. (The game director’s other project, The Good Life, is being developed at Grounding Inc.)
“The title, The Missing, has many meanings,” Swery said in his announcement video. “A missing person, someone who’s lost, or even something lost… Maybe it’s your loved one… or a place you belong. Do you ever feel lost in your everyday life? The Missing is for someone like you.”
Swery said that Arc System Works, the company best known for its work on fighting games Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and the recently released Dragonball FighterZ, has given him “an opportunity to create something entirely new.”
“This title will blow your mind,” Swery said. “I think it’s sick.”
Swery’s announcement video does not appear to feature any gameplay video. According to a post on Arc System Works’ website, The Missing will be released in 2018.
On Twitter, Swery promised that he’s still devoting his time to The Good Life, which will return for another round of crowdfunding on Kickstarter in March.
