You Can Now Buy Super Mario Cereal Without The Amiibo Functionality

The Super Mario Cereal caused quite a stir when it hit supermarket shelves not so long ago, and not just for its nutritional value (or lack thereof) – it was the fact that the box actually came with an amiibo tag that could be used in games.

This aspect made the cereal incredibly collectable, but it seems that all good things must come to an end. The cereal is still going to be sold, but it has been reissued in a new box which lacks that coveted NFC functionality.

The new version of the cereal is already making its way into stores, but it has a different box design so you can tell them apart. If you’re still on the hunt for that amiibo-powered packaging, be careful which one you get. You might also want to act quickly, because once the original variant is gone, we may not see it again.
