A Day One Patch has been rolled out for Sea of Thieves. In that there is an eyepatch you can buy with a “1” on it.
Rare has poked fun at the practice of launch patching with a tongue-in-cheek cosmetic item. The ‘Day One Patch’ is available from the General Clothing Shop located on the pirate hub.
Before you embark, you can pick it up for the measly price of one gold coin. Chump change for any self-respecting pirate.
The item is attributed to Reddit user Jefabell, who came up with the idea on the game’s subreddit three weeks ago.
The description reads “A message in a bottle from Jolly Jefabell washed ashore. Eye patch makers read it and said ‘aye’.”
Eager players looking for more tangible loot can join The Quest, Rare’s global treasure hunt for four 150g golden bananas. Microsoft has also announced a promotion where those who pick up an Xbox One X will receive a free digital copy of Sea of Thieves.
Sea of Thieves launches tomorrow, March 20 for Xbox One and PC.
