Mark Ruffalo Completely Spoiled Avengers: Infinity War 9 Months Ago

If you didn’t see Avengers: Infinity War on opening night, traversing the internet was a dangerous place. Early moviegoers were discussing the film everywhere, and the spoilers were abundant. However, what if the problem wasn’t the average Twitter user but a main cast member? Well, that’s exactly what happened when Mark Ruffalo spoiled the ending of the movie, in July 2017. Warning: There are Infinity War spoilers ahead.

Last year, Don Cheadle and Mark Ruffalo were interviewed by Good Morning America, and the two were discussing Infinity War at Disney’s D23 Expo. Ruffalo said that the movie won’t end well for the superheroes. The interviewer went on to add that someone always gets hurt in the films, and Ruffalo interrupted adding, “Wait till you see this next one, half… everybody dies.” And the look on Cheadle’s face was priceless.

A disappointed Cheadle quickly responded by saying, “Du-dude” as Ruffalo realized his error and asked GMA producers to rewind it while saying, “Am I in trouble?” Well, not everyone died in Infinity War, but here’s a list of the deceased in case you were wondering. The interviewed continued, but Ruffalo, feeling remorseful, buried his head into his hands.

Even crazier, GMA put the video on the its YouTube back in July 2017 without cutting the moment from it. While no one was sure at the time that Ruffalo actually spoiled the film, it’s perplexing to think that Marvel Entertainment didn’t try to get the video pulled. To top it off, GMA is on ABC, which is owned by Disney, the parent company of Marvel.

The movie’s secrets have been heavily guarded, which included giving cast members fake scripts to throw them off. Additionally, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have been begging moviegoers not to spoil the Infinity War for others.

It’s been a long road getting here, but it was worth it.”
