E3 2018: Metro Exodus Trailer Shows A Vicious Wasteland

During Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference 4A Games showed off more of Metro Exodus, the eagerly anticipated first-person shooter. The gameplay demo opened with a man giving a speech about survival, before quickly showing off a variety of weapons and customization options.

As with previous Metro games, there’s plenty of mutated creatures being gunned down, but most importantly it looks like the tense, unsettling atmosphere isn’t lost amongst all the bombastic gunplay. Similarly, there ongoing narration also highlights that there will be a strong emphasis on storytelling, which is good news for those that have been following Artyom’s journey from the start.

The trailer also ended by confirming that Metro Exodus release date as February 22, 2019. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC game was originally due to launch this year, but its developer said the extra time was needed as this is the most ambitious Metro game so far and it’s taking time to make it the "absolute best."

The first Metro game, Metro 2033, came out in 2010. The most recent entry in the series was 2013’s Metro: Last Light, so it’s been a long time coming for a new game. The franchise was created and is developed by 4A Games, based on the works of Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky.
