Ori And The Will Of The Wisps is the follow up to the independent hit Ori And The Blind Forest, and the new game was showcased during Microsoft’s E3 press conference with a new gameplay trailer. The Ori series is known for its beautifully whimsical art style, which is in full display in the gameplay clips. But it’s also a notable rendition of the 2D side-scrolling "Metroidvania" genre and combat and abilities were shown off.
Despite the 2D gameplay, the art-style makes backgrounds pop out while silky smooth animation makes fights a joy to watch unfold. If you want to get a better idea of how the Ori series plays, read our Ori And The Blind Forest review.
A definitive release date was not given, but Ori And The Will Of The Wisps is set to release sometime in early 2019. For more on Microsoft’s presence during E3 2018, be sure to follow all our coverage here.
