The countdown is over, and a mass of Fortnite players had gathered near the rocket to see what was about to happen. It was an interesting scene from the ground; no one was attacking each other, a few people built benches to give other players a better view of the actions, and there was a lot of dancing.
And then the rocket took off.
It’s hard to tell exactly what happened and in what order; there was a series of events that we’re still trying to piece together based on replays. But it looked as if the rocket broke apart after launch, and then a portion fell back down, firing a laser at the ground. Another rocket then appeared through a portal that seemed to have been opened by the first rocket, flew around for a bit, before it too disappeared. And then another rocket was appeared from a portal, flew straight up and opened what seems to be some kind of rift in the sky. It was a spectacular series of events.

Expect a huge number of images and videos from different perspectives looking for clues about what happened in the next few hours, however.
So what does this mean? Will the rift in the heavens open even further, allowing aliens or time travelers to enter our world? We have some idea about what to expect next from skins that were data mined from existing Fortnite files in the game, but we still have until July 12 before the new season begins.
A lot of weird things can happen in that time.
