Fortnite gets another sports celebration, this time in the World Cup Final

Antoine Griezmann of France celebrates after scoring on a penalty kick during the World Cup Final against Croatia.

Antoine Griezmann does the Take the L dance

Fortnite celebrations are nothing new to the world of sport this year, especially in soccer, and even already in the World Cup. Still, Antoine Griezmann busted out the Take the L emote after scoring on a penalty kick in the 38th minute.

In case you’re living under a rock and not familiar with Fortnite, this is what the dance looks like in the game:

Griezmann has done this before, in the World Cup, too — June 30 in France’s first knockout stage game against Argentina, where he also scored on a penalty kick.

Elsewhere, we’ve seen Fortnite celebrations in professional soccer, the NBA, Major League Baseball and the game’s been name-checked at the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament, and in the first round of the NBA Draft. So, this kind of thing probably isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon.

France defeated Croatia 4-2 to win its second FIFA World Cup championship (the other came in 1998).
