The first teaser for Netflix’s upcoming She-Ra reboot shows orphan Adora, our main character, transforming into the heroic lead for the very first time.
Helmed by Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes), the reboot is titled She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and will focus on Adora as she unites a rebellion against evil. Joining Adora are fellow She-Ra characters Glimmer, Bow and Catra, all reimagined for this new series. Previously, images and character designs for Princesses of Power caused a ripple in the animation community, as fans of the new designs defended the reboot from those who were more stuck in the past.
While the teaser just gives us a small glimpse of the new series, it features a mysterious voice beckoning Adora to a sword wrapped in tree roots in the middle of a dark forest — before the iconic She-Ra transformation. And of course, no She-Ra transformation would be complete without She-Ra lifting her sword into the air and yelling, “For the honor of Grayskull!”
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power will stream exclusively on Netflix starting Nov. 16.
